Color Diver is a complete color management system for the web designer. Use this system
to identify up to 40,000 colors from a photo or screen shot, then group and blend the selected
colors to create still more samples for reference. There is no quicker way to assemble
a group of complimentary colors for a web project. Once defined, Color Diver quickly
generates a custom color wheel or pallete sample image which can be saved right along
with your project files as a permanent tool for you or your client.
Color Diver starts with a sample image chosen by the user. If needed, the image is
resampled to a size of 200 pixels square then a database map is created cataloging
the color of each individual pixel. Mapping results in a table of standard web (hex)
color codes with 200 rows and 200 columns resulting in up to 40,000 (200 X 200) colors.
This image is then presented as a mapped graphic so that as the mouse passes over
each pixel, the color table is indexed to provide the actual color code.
As you discover each desired color, just click to add it to a basket of up to 16 colors
to be used in your designs.
Our system now provides the ability to create additional images using the basket
of 16 colors. This feature allows you to quickly reduce and refine the inventory of
colors to a pallete specific to your project. Once approved, the final revision can be saved
right along with other project files to serve as a permanent reference of the designers
intended color scheme.
For designers, the Diving Buddy feature allows you to include your approved
pallete as a color picker object in any web page or template. It's a quick and easy
method to allow your client to interact and participate in the design process.
Diving Buddy associates your image with a database record of the color map and
makes it available as a simple Javascript include. This method means the CPU intensive
process of mapping the image occurs only once. Thereafter, your map is delivered instantly
and will appear in the container page almost instantly.
